“It’s really weird. How could nothing happen? “Jasmine confused. “ Wait! The eyes! Didn’t there just be light in Confucius’s eyes?” Joe said. They stared at each other. Jasmine smiled and said “Don’t you want to climb to the Confucius and see what’s happened on it?” “How can we do this? What if someone see us?” Joe said in fear. “Anyway today is Friday. No one would be here after school. We can wait until then, and secretly climb up.” Jasmine said. “But…” “You have no choice, it’s so decided!” Jasmine said with determination. They then came back to their classroom and waited in exception. The time of today’s courses seemed to be particularly long to them. “When would the time come? I can’t wait to see what the sparkle is. I today must get the answer.” Jasmine said.

The time finally came. Not until the sky got dark did they start to take action. “It’s really dark. Aren’t you scared?” said Joe. “Of course! I look forward to it even more.” They took their phones as flashlights and approached the Confucius carefully. Joe climbed to the Confucius flexibly and took out a tiny glass bottle from its eyes. After, they took what they had found to the sports field and started to discuss about it.

“Look! This is in the bottle.” Joe said while taking a note out of the glass bottle. There was a map of Mingder High School with an X at the Archery Field. “What’s this?” Joe said confused. “I’m not sure. But I think that it might have been a treasure map.” Jasmine said. “A treasure map? Are you kidding me, right? All I think is that it’s just a prank.” Joe said. “But don’t you want to find out what will happen? Anyway, whether we find it or not, there will be no loss. So why don’t we try it? Maybe there will be an unexpected surprise!” Jasmine said with excitement. After thinking for a while, Joe said “Okay. I’ll follow you.” Then they went to the Archery Field with half expectation and fear.

“Did it write what to look for, otherwise how do we know what to look for?” said Joe. “Maybe there’s something we didn’t notice. Let’s take a look again to find out.” There was no arguing that there was a sentence next to the X. “The most dangerous place is the safest place.” said Joe. “What does this mean? Where could this place be?” While Joe was scratching his head in confusion, Jasmine chuckled. “Treasure hunting is not as difficult as I imagined.” “What do you mean? Could it be that you have already known the answer?” Joe said with surprised. “For sure! It is simpler than any math problem I have done.” Jasmine said with contempt. “Just think about it, where is the most dangerous place here to stand?” “Hmm. Aha! I got it! It’s the target holders, right?” “Yes, you are right. Let’s check the target holders to find that is there anything on the target holder.” Jasmine said.

A few minutes later, they finally found a note hid between the target and the target holder. There was a map on it as well, but the place of the X turned into the Gymnasium. There was also a sentence beside the X, “It is more familiar with the history of the Mingder High School than any other thing in the school. And it can also freely shuttle between present and past.”

“More familiar than anything? Does it mean that it has been being in the Mingder High School for a long time?” Joe said without thinking. “It’s pretty possible. You are cleverer than I’ve ever thought.” Jasmine said surprised. “I am just for fear that I am so smart that scaring you to death so I don’t show it often.” Joe said with pretension. “Oh, thanks a lot!” Jasmine said while rolling her eyes. “Enough! Get back to the topic. What does “freely shuttle between present and past” mean?” “Just find first. Maybe we’ll get the answer while searching.” said Joe. “Okay. Let’s go.”

 At the Gymnasium, “I think it’ll take a great amount of time to search. Because many things here are full of history,” Joe said. “In this case, we should allocate the range we are looking for. You look for the swimming pool, and I look for the interior of the Gymnasium.” Jasmine said. “Depend on you!”

After looking for laps, they gathered on the stage. “I’ve found nothing no matter how hard I try.” Joe said with depression. “So did I. How come we two both didn’t find anything? It’s not very big here either.” Jasmine said in doubt. “What exactly the thing is?” After he said this, he started to walk around and finally stopped at the piano. It was not until he played a few notes that something came to Jasmine’s mind suddenly. “The piano! Would it be the piano?” Jasmine said with delight. “Why do you think so?” “The piano has been here since the first day of this school. It not only understands the history of the Mingder High School but also can shuttle between present and past by playing different songs!” Jasmine said ecstatically. “Oh! It makes sense. Then let’s check this piano. I’ll check the keyboard, and the rest is yours.” Joe said. “Got it!”

While Joe was checking the keyboard, he found that there were numbers appeared between the keys. “0801? Does it mean something? It’s better for me to remember it first and discuss with Jasmine later.” Joe said. Suddenly, Jasmine shouted “Hey! Come over! Look what I found in the piano!” They gathered at the center of the stage. “It seems like that this box is what we’ve looked for. The problem is that it has already been locked but we don’t have the passwords.” Jasmine said. “Speaking to the passwords, I just found 0801 at the keys. Maybe it’s the passwords of the box. Let’s try!” As soon as they keyed in the passwords, the box was unlocked with a click.

“It does work!” they shouted excitedly. “Let’s see what’s in it.” Jasmine said with expectation. They opened the box gently for fear of destructing it. There are piles of photos, a letter, and a Polaroid. “These seem to be left by seniors who have graduated for a long time.” Joe said, “Let’s take a look at this letter.” This letter said “If someone finds the treasure we left, we hope that you can leave the memories you’ve gotten in this school just as us. And make more people know the beauty of the Mingder High School.”

“So the treasure is the memories. It’s hundred times more precious than money.” Joe said. “Now that we have all seen it, let’s leave our memories as well!” Jasmine said. Then they took the Polaroid out of the box, took a selfie, put the picture in the box, and put all the notes they found back into place. Jasmine said “Hope that someone like us will find this treasure and leave this interesting memory in their memory.”
