The Amsterdam connection

Summary: Max suggested Kate to have a relaxation, and gave him a piece of advice.

But the ring of which Max never rang – he was found lying in the street of Amsterdam, and dead of 20knife wound. A distance of find out the murderer has beginning.

And Kate decided to find out the murderer, and going to Amsterdam as Max had wanted, not for Max but to find his killer.

Response: It’s such an outstanding novel. Although its detail is clear, it wasn’t hard for a student like me  to read . Maybe this is what I have to learn – use easy words to express something that  may be hard to understand. And what impressed me the most was this: But Max never rang. In fact, I never saw him again. Two days later, he was found lying dead in an Amsterdam street with twenty knife wounds in his body. (Page 9)

It was an easy sentence but shocked me. And this is the transition of the story. The atmosphere had completely changed, and it makes me want to read it more.
