The Amsterdam Connection (Chapter8-The end)

Summary:

Chapter 8 is a climax in the whole story. It’s the start that Kate has some clues during surveys Max’s death behind the curtain. It’s the start that Kate finds someone called Martijn Christiaans, too. Kate’s ‘’freind’’ Jos van Essen gives her another clue to find out the connection of the money that was bet on Leiden to win the match against Rotterdam. Another friend of Kate, Elly , tells Kate to visit a guy called Ronnie in the office here in Amsterdam, he may able to help her. One night, a tall dark-haired man with clear blue eyes attacks Kate, try to tack her away. Unfortunately he encounters a woman who had been learned karate for years, so he fails and runs back.

In chapter 10, policeman de Vries remind Kate to get some evidences, so she visits Sanchez the goalkeeper at Rotterdam City Football Club. After a choose between telling her some contents about the bet or not to tell and lose everything, Sanchez tells her the important massage about what Christiaans requested to him. There’s finally has something clear! Then Kate phones Elly to come over and meets Sanchez. After understanding about the Max’ death behind the curtain, they then arranges a plan to gain some evidences from Christiaans.

After waiting for a long time, there’s finally a knock at Kate’s door, she opens the door excited. It’s not Elly and Sanchez but Christiaans! He threatens Kate with a gun and kidnaps her. Elly and Sanchez aren’t been killed because Christiaans needs Sanchez to lose the match in order to gain the money he betted on, and Elly is his hostage.

Kate wakes up with headache and finds herself in a house. There, in the corner, is Elly, wearing handcuffs and with something over her mouth so that she can’t speak. Kate tries to escape from the house, and she really does it! Then she just keeps on running in the rains to the police station, and tells the police what happened. The policemen get on the car to rescue Elly and arrest Christiaans.

The event is finally over. Though, Max and Jos were dead and nothing would bring them back.

Reflection:

     It’s happy that the event is finally over. But it’s sad about another person’ death. This story tells us that a person would do anything to gain money. It’s very evil and dangerous, I’m really appreciate with Kate because she did everything to find out the truth of Max’s death. That’s what a real friend would do for you! The story is a contrast of goodness and broken-hearted. The writer used very simple words to write a story and lead our imagination into the plot. Reading this book is not only learning a story but also studying how to write an article. This book shows me lots of things, not just how to complete a work in easy method, but human nature is!
