Summary:
Bert,an old guy that Kate had met in the bar in de pijp,left a message to Kate before she was back at the hotel.He also left his telephone number.When Kate rang him from her room,he was still at the bar.Kate wondered whether he spent all his time there.Then Bert talked Kate that she had to pay four hundred guilders for the information she wanted to know.That was a big number but Kate decided to pay it because she had to say yes.So she asked Bert to com to the hotel.When Bert arrived,he looked a lot more drunk when Kate had left him.He told Kate that he knew someone happened to Kate's friend on Wednesday night.This man saw almost everything happened to her friend,and he saw the murder,too.But he couldn't show up now.Bert also told her that Cor Schaap,whom the police picked up,was impossible to kill someone.After Bert left,Kate thought that he wasn't telling the truth.
Reflection:
I also think Bert was a liar because he was a criminal!Kate didn't know him long enough,either.She didn't understand this man totaly soon.The story is going to be more and more exciting.Is Bert telling the truth?And what's the truth of this tragedy?I am so eagar to know it immediately.This book really makes me curious about the upgoing thing.
