The Amsterdam Connection(All)

Summary:
     Kate, who was a reporter write about crime, worked in Daily Echo. Kate was talking with Max in the Queen’s Head. Max was Kate’s ex-boss, though he had retired from Evening News, they are still good friend. Max suggested Kate to have a holiday, but they knew Dave, Kate's editor wouldn't give her chance, and he also asked her go to Holland and write a story about Rotterdam City Football Club. Max promised Kate he would call her, but he didn't ring her. Because, he was dead two days later. Kate was sad when she got the news and she also told the happening about Max saved her before to her colleague, Rick. Kate decided to go to Amsterdam, and to find Max's killer. Kate arrived in Amsterdam. She met her friend Elly in coffee shop and talked about Max's death. Then, Elly got up to go to work. Kate went to visit Jos van Essen, who was a great footballer. Both  of them were sad about Max's death, but Jos said it in a way that made it sound like there was nothing more to say. After ringing Jos' doorbell, Kate went to de Pijp, where Max's body had been found. She got into a coffee shop and made friend with Bert. In the evening, Kate had dinner with Elly. Elly told her that Joss de Vries, who in charge of Max's case, found Max's killer, because the team found Max's wallet in killer's apartment. Then, Kate called to Balzano, he was yelled at her that she didn't get the news about the killer had been found, but Kate told him that wasn't true. When Kate backed at the hotel, she got a message from Bert. She called to him and promised to give him money. Bert told her there's someone know what happen to Max. But, Kate thought Bert was lying. The next day, she took train to Rotterdam to meet Max's brother Tom Carson.She met him at club office. They talked about Max and report of football team, and also visited the Carson Football School. Back to Amsterdam, Kate went to the library to surf some information and found that there's someone called Martijn Christiaans buy up the club. She headed for finding Martijn, but missed. Back to the hotel, she got a letter from no-name, but it seemed a good message. Then, she called to Jos and they would go to see the match. When she went out for a walk, she was attacked but she struck back to them and ran back to her hotel. The day after, Kate went to see Ronnie for help. He told her about the Amsterdam Connection. She talked to Joss about the Amsterdam Connection and the guy wasn't the killer. But, he didn't believe it. Kate had to get hold of some evidence. Kate went to see a football match with Jos. On the way, they talked about Rotterdam goalkeeper Raul Sanchez. Because Jos was an ex-player, they had the tickets for the best seats. In this match, Rotterdam lost to Barcelona. After match, they drove back to Amsterdam. Jos sent Kate a photo with his sign. The next day, Jos was found dead outside his apartment. Kate went to find Raul. At the beginning, they talked about The Amsterdam Connection, but Raul was lying. After Kate threatened him, he told the truth. He was been offered lots of money to lose the match by Martijn. Then, they asked Elly for help and started to collect the evidence. First, Raul went to meet Martijn, asking for more money. Kate went to see Ronnie, and got information of  Lanoxin which is the kind pills of heart disease.Then, Kate went back to hotel to wait for them. Finally, there was a knock at the door. She was exciting to open the door. Suddenly, she was pushed back into the room by the man who had attacked her outside the hotel. Kate was kidnapped to a cellar, later she found Elly was also but Raul didn't. Kate tried to escape the cellar, however she succeeded. She ran to the police station as fast as she could. Then, Kate and police drove to Martijn's house quickly. The police extended the active, there also had gun shot. Finally, Elly and Raul were safe, and Martijn was arrested. Kate, Elly and Raul were at Joss'  office. Raul told the whole story to Joss. Kate gave some evidence to Joss and talked about Max was killed by Martijn. They also had a chat with Tom, he said that he didn't know how to do. This big events was over. Kate went back to the hotel and wrote down her story. She sent it to Dave and asked for the holidays.
Reflection:

     This book is full of surprise and mysterious. I like it very much. The mystery title of the book is the event’s beginning. I feel happy that the killer was arrested and feel sad that two good people were killed innocent. I think Kate is brave to find the truth and admire that she could face frightened thing clearly. I am glad that it’s all over. Though it takes time to read, reading is an interesting thing to do. The writer described each activity vividly. I learned some knowledge in book and learned good sentences that I can use in life.
